What We Do

At Fit Mummy MK we provide a safe space for expectant and new mums to exercise under the guidance of a fully qualified & experienced trainer.

Why we do it

When I had my first baby I was lucky enough to be able to train with Freya in our gym, FitBody Milton Keynes. I posted pictures of my return to fitness on social media and friends with babies started asking lots of questions about what exercise they could do and where could they do it? Some even asked if they could come and train with me and bring their babies along. It got me thinking, there really aren’t many options for new Mums wanting to regain fitness post pregnancy. Most options out there require you to leave your baby with someone else and train on your own without any support and guidance. The truth is, your body has been through a lot during pregnancy and labour and requires a bit of extra care when returning to exercise.

It is important to return to fitness in the correct way to avoid injury and ongoing problems. The best way to ensure you’re exercising correctly and safely is under the guidance of a qualified pre and post natal trainer. Even better that they are a Mum too and has experienced all the physical and emotional obstacles encountered by new Mums.

After a few years of running post natal group fitness I started seeing a lot of my Mums returning with baby no.2. After talking to a few of them I realised most of them hadn’t continued training when they fell pregnant again. This wasn’t because they didn’t want to but because they weren’t sure what to do or more importantly what they shouldn’t do! So I made the decision to offer pre natal fitness coaching also as the benefits to Mum and baby are huge but just as with post natal training, expectant Mums need a little more support and guidance.

Who am I?

My name is Helen and I am the co-owner of Fit Body Milton Keynes. I have worked as a personal trainer for over 10 years and together with my husband Neil have helped thousands of people drop body fat, get fit and feel amazing through attending our indoor group training sessions!

I have a passion for making exercise fun! If you’re doing it right It shouldn’t ever feel like a chore.

After having my daughters, Freya and Addison I wanted more than ever to be the fittest and healthiest Mummy I could be to inspire them to lead a fit and active lifestyle as they grow up. I hope that I can also inspire you to inspire your children as I believe your health is the most important thing you have and If we can install that in the next generation it can only be a good thing.
